Solar Battery Storage

With the technology of batteries now being very advanced and new schemes on offer to help generate an income from battery storage they have become incredibly popular.

Solar battery storage is a technology that stores excess energy.

Utility companies are now paying homeowners to store excess renewable energy. This excess energy can come from your solar panels or the national grid. When there is a surplus of energy in the national grid your battery can buy energy at a cheap rate. Your battery will then sell the energy back at a higher price during peak hours. This means you don’t need solar panels to benefit from battery storage. You also don’t need to sell the energy if you prefer to store the cheap energy to use for your home’s needs later.

To qualify for a battery you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a UK homeowner
  • Be spending at least £40 a month on electricity
